1. Do you remember your first ever thing you were fannish about as a wee one?
2. What fandom was your first (fan fic) reading fandom?
3. Are you very monofannish or a fickle fannish butterfly?

My [livejournal.com profile] sshg_exchange gift was posted today.* And it is Awesome, as my subject implies. The reveal isn't for another week, so I don't know who wrote it yet, but for now, Dear Anonymous Writer, I thank you.

Title: Even Stopper Death
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: A couple of naughty-ish words
Summary: As a child, Hermione had been fascinated with Severus Snape's first year speech, but was it possible that he actually managed to stopper death?
Original Prompt(s): 1. Post-DH, EWE or however you can pull it off. Hermione can't see Thestrals. Snape's death is the only death she is absolutely, beyond-a-shadow-of-a-doubt sure she witnessed, and 3. A missing scene between Snape and Hermione sometime within the books.

Chapter One
Chapter Two

Now, to adopt this as my own personal canon, or not to adopt this as my personal canon...? Decisions,  decisions...

*Along with a huge number of others. Maybe I'll finally start to catch up.

I am so incredibly behind on reading for the [livejournal.com profile] sshg_exchange . Which stinks because I've been looking forward to it for a year. I've been way too distracted by internet multitasking lately. Oh, well. I'll catch up at some point.

Oookaay...

I have Geoffrey Rush stuck in my head. Geoffrey. Rush. Do you know how strange that is? I pick up stuff from things all the time. Physical stuff. I watch too much Dexter and I walk around like Dex does or I start talking like Lundy or something. I watch too much Good Eats and other people notice Alton's mannerisms in me. It's not intentional and I've been doing it for as long as I can remember. I've even caught myself picking up things from Brooks Ashmanskas lately, although I haven't quite managed to acquire his ability to float. (Trust me on this, the man can float.) But this is different. I mean, I just read a fanfic and my carefully-constructed-and-five-years-in-the-making mental image of Snape was replaced with Geoffrey Rush, voice and all. And GeoffreyRush!Snape is weird. GeoffreyRush!Snape/Hermione is weirder. I'll stick to Barbossabeth, thanks. Get out of my head, sir. Please.

I can't promise this is at all coherent, but here goes nothing. ;)

Lecter, HP, House, The Pretender )

For the past I-don't-know-how-long, the letters 'MLC' have meant one thing to me --the ubiquitous SSHG Marriage Law Challenge, for anyone who doesn't know-- so reading discussions about the House episode 'Merry Little Christmas' messes with my head a bit. When did the episode air, the 12th? I should be used to it by now. Grr...
