4th Row: Harriet and Ricky's son, James Dalton. Ricky and Karen's daughter, Daisy Cormier. Steven and Marsha's son, Hannibal Bruenig. Elliott Gissing, Matthew Gissing and...his wife Felicia (!), and Quigley Gissing. Gwen and Aiden's children Sigourney, Linda and Alex Fancey.
5th Row: Matthew and his wife's children Phil and Shelley Gissing.
My Crazy Mixed-Up Naming Theme or Stuff You Didn't Want to Know and Didn't Need to Ask
Everyone in the main Gissing line is named for characters in movies starring Alan Rickman. The off-shoots are much more random.
George (1st Gen) was named after the Sheriff of Nottingham from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
Elinor and Marianne (2nd Gen) were named for characters in Sense and Sensibility. Once Marianne was chosen as heir, I had to have Brandon.
Harry and Karen (3rd Gen) are from Love Actually. Gwen is named for Sigourney Weaver's character in Galaxy Quest. I was saving GQ names for aliens, rather than naming the aliens after the generation's theme. Harriet was named Harriet by the lucky chance that she was female, or I'm afraid I would have had two Harrys. I'd forgotten about him for a bit.
Generation Four's Elliott, Matthew and Quigley were named for characters in Quigley Down Under. If there had been an abduction baby boy, he would have been Marston. James Dalton was actually named by my brother, after a president. Daisy was named after Karen's daughter in Love Actually. Sigourney was obviously named after Sigourney Weaver. Linda and Alex were named for Weaver and Rickman's parts in Snow Cake.
Generation Five's Phil and Shelley are named for characters in Blow Dry. There may very well be more Gen 5 babies, but I haven't played that far yet.
Stay tuned while we continue our search for the illusive John Gissing.
